Equivoice secures its VoIP network through the following methods:
- The IP telephones use private IP address that cannot be seen from the open Internet.
- The IP telephones exist in their own VLAN on the client site and cannot be accessed by any data device other than the VoIP server and Gateway.
- The private Ethernet port on the customer premise router only permits traffic from specific IP addresses on the Equivoice network and only allows traffic from the voice VLAN to exit the port.
- All communication to the IP telephony network from any external address must be via an IPSEC tunnel through the Equivoice VPN accelerator.
The Equivoice security policy enables clients to develop their own security policies without having to worry about the impact on the IP telephony network. Therefore a client can choose to implement any firewall, Nat server or IP address scheme.
Equivoice has been creating and administering VoIP networks for over 5 years. This experience enables us to design the best possible network for our clients. The Equivoice IP Centrex infrastructures enables our clients to enjoy the benefits of voice and data convergence while avoiding its potential problems. |
