Unified Communications on Universal Computing Servers Upgrade

What is UC on UCS ?

UC on UCS is creating a virtual environment to support all the Cisco Unified Communications functions. This includes Call Manager, Unity, Presence, UCCX and other Unified Communications applications. Each application runs on a virtual server. The Cisco Unified Computing System provides the virtualization platform. The Cisco Unified Data Center infrastructure strategy provides the fabric service deployment.

Why Upgrade ?

Clients with unsupported or End of Sale versions of the Cisco Call Manager face very serious business risks. Older versions of Cisco Call Manager and Unity software are designed to operate on specific hardware platforms.  The software will only load on these servers.  In the event of a server crash, you must find the exact model you are using now to bring back your system. These specific servers are end of life/end of sale and are difficult to acquire.  Your communications may be compromised for days while you attempt to locate a server or perform an emergency upgrade.

Business Risks

The latest version of Cisco Unified Communications includes new features that help improve business process management.  Many of our clients are using these features to better focus their resources and improve their competitive position.
